June 2008 – Present.  APEX Systems, Inc., subcontractor to Perot Systems at the DTRA facility in Fort Belvior, VA.

Create, manage and test desktop and laptop images for LCR deployments.  Maintain image laboratory network and equipment.  QA software suites and ensure updates and patches are current and provide proper operation within a Windows XP operating system.  Maintain detailed instructions and changes within the Knowledge Base.  Assist in LCR deployments as needed.

 

 

August 2007 – June 2008

Independent contractor performing residential customer consultations, surveys and installation of home based security and network systems.  Includes router and PC configuration of wireless, coax and category 5e systems.

              Provide management (LM) and customer (FAA) with status reports of concerns and/or milestone events on a daily basis in order to track progress of program.

Lead supervisory technician responsible for the installation of an audio visual switched network and LAN.  The installation included the assembly of workstation furniture, three separate equipment cabinet rooms, a central server and data storage group and three separate network classification enclaves. This included the installation and termination of all backbone cables, equipment cabinets, servers, switches and routers. The dressing, labeling and test documentation of all cables and terminations was also performed and a test results database created for customer acceptance and delivery. 

 

June 2002 – June 2003 Bowhead Support Services

Lead TechnicianFBI Laboratory Network Infrastructure Installation

Oversee and provide technical resource for the installation, termination, testing and verification of a fiber optic LAN and all related equipment at the new FBI Laboratory building in Quantico, VA.  Terminated over 3000 MM fiber cables to the workstation outlets, break out and splice the 144 strand backbones in closet panels.  Install additional PDS pathways where required. Provide cross connections to switchgear in the Main Distribution Facility (MDF) and verify connectivity.  Ensure test result database compliance and accuracy for customer acceptance and delivery.  Project completed on time and under budget!

Federal Bureau of Investigation-Legal Attaché Program: Was a team leader in the development, configuration and installation of a LAN/WAN system for worldwide implementation at US embassy field offices. Developed and documented a streamlined installation and remote administration procedure to reduce helpdesk service calls and unnecessary international travel. Provide helpdesk support.

Federal Bureau of Investigation-Criminal Investigation Division Performed interoperability verification and testing on Windows NT4.0 baseline to include roving profiles, system policies, and connection to FBI mainframes. Developed and documented the installation procedures.  Assist government personnel with division wide installation and support for over 450 workstations.

 

APEX, Inc.: Defined network requirements, estimated time and materials and managed subcontractor personnel on installing a 100Base-TX LAN to include the cable plant, wall outlets, 3 Comm hubs and patch panels.  The network consisted of over 40,000 feet of CAT5 twisted pair cable runs, 110 client locations, and three network nodes per location.  Also assisted in the installation of a fault-tolerant Windows NT server platform.

Interpol-U.S. National Central Bureau: Responsible as a team member for implementing and supporting a Windows NT 4.0/NetWare 4.11-network with COTS software upgrades to include NetWare, Groupwise mail, WordPerfect 8.0, and NT 4.0 domain controllers.  Maintained all printer and hardware upgrades to include over 90 workstations. 

U.S. Marshals Service (USMS): Installed local and wide area networks at District and sub-offices nationwide.  Configured and tested the proper operation of Cisco 2500 series routers utilizing X.25 TCP/IP protocols.  Installed Synoptics 10Base-T hubs and ethernet print servers, Installed and terminated all network cabling.  Upgrade hard disks and memory and configured all PCs for network operation.  Provided the initial training of the new system, e-mail, office menu, and custom applications.  Supported trouble calls after installations.

 

May 1988-September 1994, Washington Photo Copy Corporation:

Electronics Technician

Repair and refurbish electronic and electromechanical components on Toshiba photocopiers, facsimiles and printers. Maintained accurate and sufficient inventory form field repair work.  Provided customer and sales interaction, and provided technical resource to junior technicians from the main office.
